Welcome To Stellar Counseling

Trauma is not what happens to you, it’s what happens inside you as a result of what happened to you.”
— Gabor Maté

Trauma isn’t defined only by what happened—it’s defined by how your nervous system experienced it.

You may have gone through something recent, such as an accident, injury, medical trauma, or assault. You might feel on edge, anxious, or unsafe, even when nothing seems “wrong.” Nightmares, mood swings, depression, or difficulty regulating emotions may be part of your day-to-day life. Trust—of others or yourself—can feel hard.

Or your trauma may be rooted in earlier experiences. If your emotional, physical, or developmental needs weren’t consistently met as a child, you may carry a lingering sense of low self-worth—feeling not good enough, unlovable, or like something is wrong with you. These patterns can quietly shape relationships and self-confidence.

Trauma lives in the body and nervous system, not just in memory. Your responses aren’t a weakness—they’re survival strategies that once helped protect you.

Therapy can help you understand these patterns, reconnect with a sense of safety, and create change. Healing doesn’t mean forgetting the past—it means no longer living as if the danger is still present.

You don’t have to stay stuck in overwhelm or fear. With the right support, it’s possible to feel more grounded, connected, and at home in yourself.

You don’t have to navigate this alone. If you’re curious about working together, I invite you to reach out for a consultation.
