About Me

Since 2019, I have worked as a Mental Health Counselor in Washington State. This is a second career for me, in 2013 after injured in an auto accident, I made the decision to go back to school and finish my undergraduate degree. The injury I sustained impacted me in multiple areas of life, so it was time to pivot. This was an opportunity for me to do something that I had wanted to do for a long time. As I look back, I see that I chose the scenic route but all road led to the same place. I now hold two degrees: a BS in Herbal Sciences and an MA in Counseling Psychology both from Bastyr University in Kenmore, WA, and I feel fortunate to work in the field of mental health counseling and grateful for those who supported me and shared their wisdom on my journey. So that is how I got here.

I've learned many lessons on this path both in my personal and career life and I continue to learn and grow through reading, continuing education and collaboration with other therapists. I think it's vital to be transparent, collaborative, supportive, real and humorous at times in working with clients on what can be a challenging and painful journey.

I'll share a little bit about myself outside of work now. The Pacific Northwest has been my home all of my life. I love the outdoors and value time spent in nature. When I'm not working, I am likely in the garden with the plants and wild critters, growing and harvesting plants, crafting herbal teas and other fabulous things, cooking, reading, watching hockey or enjoying time with my partner and our pets.
